Char Dham Yatra: Ultimate Pilgrimage Guide & Tour Overview

The Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage circuits in the world, nestled in the soaring peaks of the Garhwal Himalayas. The yatra consists of four revered temples: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Each dham is dedicated to a distinct deity and holds a deep mythological significance. Yamunotri is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, Gangotri to Goddess Ganga, Kedarnath to Lord Shiva (one of the 12 Jyotirlingas), and Badrinath to Lord Vishnu. Undertaking this pilgrimage is believed to cleanse one's soul, wash away accumulated sins, and lead toward Moksha (liberation).

Traveling across these mountainous regions requires careful planning, robust health, and highly reliable transport. Our Char Dham Yatra Tour Package 2026 is designed to handle all details of this extensive 12-day mountain journey. We provide a dedicated outstation vehicle (such as an Ertiga or Innova) with seasoned hill drivers who understand the challenging Himalayan curves. Our package includes clean and comfortable lodging at all base camps (Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Badrinath, and Rudraprayag), daily nutritious breakfasts and dinners, biometric registration assistance, and optional helicopter bookings for Kedarnath. Trust our experience to ensure a safe, peaceful, and deeply spiritual journey through Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

Itinerary (11 Nights / 12 Days)

Day 1-2

Delhi/Haridwar to Barkot & Yamunotri Darshan

Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Delhi or Haridwar to Barkot, a beautiful hill town located at the foot of Yamunotri. Enjoy stunning views of the Yamuna River along the way. On Day 2, travel early to Hanuman Chatti or Janki Chatti, the starting points for the trek. From Janki Chatti, undertake a scenic 6 km trek (on foot, pony, or palki) to the Yamunotri Temple. Seek blessings from the deity, cook rice in the natural hot springs of Surya Kund as Prasad, and offer prayers at Divya Shila. Return to Barkot for an overnight stay.

Day 3-4

Barkot to Uttarkashi & Gangotri Darshan

Travel from Barkot to Uttarkashi, a town situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Here, visit the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. On Day 4, drive along the gorgeous Bhagirathi valley to the Gangotri Temple, situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters. The temple marks the place where Goddess Ganga descended to Earth. Take a holy dip in the icy Bhagirathi River, attend the prayers, and soak in the divine Himalayan environment before returning to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 5-7

Uttarkashi to Guptkashi & Kedarnath Temple Trek

Proceed to Guptkashi, traveling through the beautiful Mandakini river valley. On Day 6, drive to Sonprayag/Gaurikund and begin the 16 km trek to the holy Kedarnath Temple. Nestled at 3,583 meters against the majestic Kedarnath peak, the temple is one of the most sacred Shiva shrines. You can trek, hire a pony/palki, or fly via helicopter. Attend the divine evening Aarti and spend the night in Kedarnath camp. On Day 7, trek back down to Gaurikund and transfer to your hotel in Guptkashi.

Day 8-9

Guptkashi to Badrinath Darshan & Mana Village

Drive to Badrinath via Joshimath, climbing higher into the mountains. Check into your hotel, then visit the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Take a holy bath in the warm waters of Tapt Kund before entering the temple. On Day 9, explore Mana Village, the last Indian village before the Tibet border, and see the ancient Vyas Gufa, Ganesh Gufa, and the unique Bhim Pul bridge over the Saraswati River. Afterward, drive back down to Rudraprayag for your overnight stay.

Day 10-12

Rudraprayag to Haridwar & Departure

Drive back toward Haridwar, stopping at Rishikesh to visit the iconic suspension bridges Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, as well as the spiritual ghats. In the evening, attend the legendary Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, watching hundreds of lamps float down the river. On Day 12, enjoy a final breakfast before being transferred back to Delhi or Haridwar station for your onward return journey, bringing home divine blessings.
