Itinerary (7 Nights / 8 Days)
Amritsar Golden Temple & Local Gurudwara Tour
Arrive in Amritsar, check into your hotel. Spend your first evening at Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), participating in the peaceful Palki Sahib Sewa ceremony. On Day 2, visit other historic local Gurudwaras including Baba Bakala Sahib, Goindwal Sahib where you can walk down the 84 steps of the sacred Baoli Sahib, and Khadoor Sahib. Learn about the rich lives of the Gurus, volunteer at the Langar, and experience the divine Gurbani Kirtan. Overnight stay in Amritsar.
Amritsar to Anandpur Sahib (Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib)
Drive from Amritsar to Sri Anandpur Sahib, the holy city of bliss and birthplace of the Khalsa. Visit Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, one of the five temporal seats of Sikhism. Explore the beautiful Virasat-e-Khalsa museum, which showcases the rich 500-year history of Sikh heritage and culture through modern multimedia exhibits. Afterward, visit Gurudwara Kiratpur Sahib and Patalpuri Sahib on the banks of the Sutlej River before retiring to your hotel in Anandpur Sahib. Overnight stay in Anandpur Sahib.
Anandpur Sahib to Govindghat via Rishikesh
Drive from Anandpur Sahib toward the Garhwal hills, stopping at the spiritual town of Rishikesh on the banks of the Ganges. On Day 5, embark on a spectacular 10-hour drive along the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, passing ancient confluences like Devprayag and Rudraprayag. Arrive at Govindghat, a beautiful mountain village which serves as the starting base camp for the trek to Sri Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers. Overnight stay in Govindghat.
Trek to Ghangaria & Sri Hemkund Sahib Darshan
On Day 6, trek 13 km from Govindghat to Ghangaria (available on foot, pony, or helicopter). On Day 7, undertake the steep 6 km climb to Sri Hemkund Sahib (15,200 feet). Take a holy dip in the icy waters of the natural Sarovar, pray at the star-shaped Gurudwara, and enjoy the hot tea and Khichdi Prasad. Return to Ghangaria for overnight stay. On Day 8, descend back to Govindghat and drive to Rishikesh/Delhi for your onward journey, carrying divine blessings.
